[21:31] [Solarchos] The Tenacious then entered the fray. We hit one of the frigates with everything we had, hitting them over and over again with cannons and missiles while they battered away at us with plasma cannons.

[21:32] [+David O'Cain] Somehow I stand corrected. More like an AC-130 in space with the firepower that thing had.
[21:33] [Solarchos] Unfortunately for the Imperials, their auspex could never get a solid lock on the Tenacious
[21:33] > Chibi-AnTil wiggles and giggles helplessly as he's tickled ruthlessly by the metal lady! XD
[21:34] [Solarchos] And it's really difficult to hit something you can't see properly. ^_^
[21:34] > TheHunterKiller is sitting on the floor, working on a crossbow

[21:36] > Chibi-Sylvester and Chibi-Catri peer at the new person, their ears flicking with curiosity.

[21:38] > Taruka Mi-38 stops the tickling
[21:39] [Solarchos] We managed to destroy two frigates without sustaining any damage to ourselves, then we came under attack from the last of the Imperial frigates. Before we could do anything, the frigate was blown to shreds by blasts from multiple anti-proton cannons. The Abh Gels had regrouped and reformed, combining their firepower and sweeping aside the last of the Imperial escort ships.
[21:39] [Solarchos] Now for starters. I didn't see you come in.
[21:39] [Solarchos] The Tenacious had been the deciding factor in their fight. We bought them the time they needed to regroup.
[21:40] > Chibi-AnTil stops giggling and tries to grab hold of the metal lady's hand. :D
[21:41] > Taruka Mi-38 's hand is surpisently soft

[21:44] [+David O'Cain] Hope the Abh were grateful of your joining.
[21:44] [Solarchos] We were also contacted by one of the other Abh ships...the Roil-class destroyer Basroil, commanded by a young Abh lady named Lafiel Abriel.
[21:44] [Solarchos] We were immediately contacted by one of the Gels. It was Hecto-Commander Atosuryua of the Abh Labule. She had no idea who we were or where we'd come from, but we'd just saved their lives.
[21:45] [TheHunterKiller] I was in Zimbabwe.
[21:47] [Solarchos] The Abh still needed our help. The Dictator was still in the fight, and the Abh's heavy cruiser had been destroyed. The two Rets were still fighting, but they were taking too many hits. It was only a matter of time before the Imperial cruiser overwhelmed them and picked them apart.
[21:47] [Solarchos] What were you doing there in Zimbabwe? Safari?
[21:49] [+David O'Cain] So, what'd the Tenatious do?
[21:49] [TheHunterKiller] I was just doing some hunting.
[21:50] [+David O'Cain] ^Tenacious
[21:50] [Solarchos] That was what was killing the Abh, too - the Imperials' fighters and bombers. Their fighters were intercepting the Abh's missiles, and their bombers were attacking their ships with almost complete impunity. The Abh have NEVER used fighters before in space combat. In fact, I don't think the concept of them ever entered their minds.
[21:52] [Solarchos] The entered into formation with the Gels and headed straight for the Dictator. Red and Green Squadron rearmed and relaunched. Their objective was to intercept and engage all fighters and bombers attacking the Abh.
[21:52] [+David O'Cain] Well, hopefully after that fight the Abh decided the use of fighters and bombers is essential.
[21:53] > Taruka Mi-38 smiles happily
[21:54] > Taruka Mi-38 gets sad though, just as quickly
[21:54] [Solarchos] The type of fighters used by the Tenacious were Starfury Thunderbolt - a class of starfighter designed with deep-space combat in mind. The standard-pattern space fighter used by the Imperium is a model classified by us as the "Hammerhead" because of its wing shape.
[21:55] [Solarchos] Our Starfuries were substantially more maneuverable, while the Hammerheads had better weapons. It evened out.
[21:55] > TheHunterKiller puts the crossbow together with the new piece and checks it over
[21:56] > Chibi-Alex and Chibi-AnTil keep on nibbling playfully, trilling happily the whole time. :3 :3

[21:58] [Solarchos] Red and Green Squadron ran interference, taking on Imperial bomber wings while also trying to disperse the Dictator's fighter screen

[22:00] [Solarchos] Then the Tenacious, the Basroil, and all the rest of the Gels opened fire. Combined fire from dozens of infrared lasers, railguns, voklanyu laser cannons, and half a dozen anti-proton cannons was enough to savage the hell out of the Dictator. Torpedo volleys from Red and Green Squadron was enough to finish it off.
[22:00] > @Nate Detroit walks in, and colapses unto the couch, face down.

[22:01] [+David O'Cain] Ouchies. I'll be those Throne (looks at the kids) Kissers really felt the pain.
[22:01] > TheHunterKiller marks a spot on the wall and tests the crossbow's aim
[22:01] [Solarchos] Over the course of the next five minutes we watched as an enormous, adamantium-armored behemoth almost five kilometers long began to self-destruct as its plasma reactors started overloading one by one. Internal explosions began cooking off like strings of firecrackers.

[22:02] [Solarchos] Nate?! Are you all right?
[22:03] [@Nate Detroit] ...tired...

[22:09] [Solarchos] The battle was over. The Abh had won, with a little help from the Tenacious. But they'd paid a heavy price. Several Roils had been destroyed, as had a Lesui and almost half of the transports that had made up the convoy. Each of those transports was carrying several thousand civilian evacuees.
[22:09] > Chibi-Catri and Chibi-Sylvester poke Nate curiously.
[22:09] > @Nate Detroit twitches slightly.
[22:10] > +David O'Cain keeps listening to the story
[22:11] [Solarchos] Atosuryua and Lafiel both docked their ships with ours. They needed our help with search and rescue operations to try and save as many people as possible. Over the course of the next few hours we wound up taking on a few thousand Abh and human evacuees.
[22:12] > Chibi-Catri and Chibi-Sylvester giggle and poke Nate some more. :D :D
[22:12] [+David O'Cain] Glad to hear there were survivors. It would have been very terrible if there were more lost lives.

[22:15] [Solarchos] During that time Lafiel came onboard, bringing with her the Basroil's fektodai sazoil...her chief supply officer and closest friend: a young human man named Jinto Linn. Or, more specifically, Count Jinto Linn of the Hydal system. Lafiel herself was an extremely well-known princess within the Humankind Empire Abh. Both of them came onbaord to meet us all and personally thank us for helping save so many lives.
